| At MegaVoice we know that in order to see God's Word reach every tongue, tribe and nation, it will take more than just a handful of dedicated workers and donors to see it come to pass. We know that if we are to see this revolution come to full fruition then it will need be a Church-wide movement dedicated to the spreading of God's Word. | |
| This is why we have launched the MegaVoice Youth Initiative, AKA Break the Silence. Through Break the Silence it is our mission to get young people around the world involved by raising awareness and encouraging and facilitating their mobilization. |  |
| Our first Break the Silence campaign is the MEGATHON. A MEGATHON is a sports fundraising event where participants collect pledges to 'break a sweat to break the silence!' | |
| Our first Megathon took place on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in December of 2007. About 70 people from around Israel and the world met to bike, run, row, swim and walk to raise over $45,000 to distribute God's word! |  |
| At the event we produced a short promotional video to encourage youth groups around the world to hold their very own Megathons. | |
This video was featured at Winter Jam - a nationwide American concert tour - where it was shown to tens of thousands of young people and youth pastors, as well as at the Xtreme Conferences. At these events were information booths where youth pastors could sign up to get more information on holding their own Megathons - and the response was overwhelming! Over 5,000 people signed up and we are already gearing up for our first 20 Megathons in the United States. | |
| We have staff working full time keeping in contact with the various youth pastors and helping them make their events a success. We are also providing the leaders with Leader's Guide packets which include a step-by-step guide to holding a Megathon as well as much needed material such as posters and pledge cards. |  |
| Also included in the packets are Prayer Guides with information on some of our partners' ongoing field projects as well as a four-week devotional on the importance of God's Word in our lives and in society. |  |
Through the Megathon, as well as the prayer and devotional material included with it, it is our goal to cultivate a burden for world-missions in the hearts of young people across the globe as well as to raise the funds needed to see God's Word spread in audio form.
